Message from Mrs. Camper

Greetings Husky Families!

Happy February!

As we move into the second month of the year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the continued support and engagement from our school community. We are excited to keep building on the momentum of the first semester and are looking forward to the opportunities and events February brings. Be on the look out for announcements about school ski trips and college tour opportunities.

Our winter sports teams are in full swing, and we encourage everyone to come out and support our athletes. Check the school website or follow us on social media for event schedules and updates. We also have several extracurricular activities continuing this month—there’s always something exciting happening here at Florence Jr/Sr High School.

This month, we are emphasizing kindness and school spirit, as part of our ongoing efforts to foster a positive and supportive environment for all students. I encourage you to have conversations with your child about the importance of kindness and how they can contribute to making our school a welcoming and respectful place for everyone. We are also asking all students to wear their Husky gear or club shirt on Thursdays.

As always, thank you for being such an integral part of our school community.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments at 719-784-6414 or email to kcamper@re-2.org .

Warm wishes,

Mrs. Krissi Camper

February is Heart Health Month

February is Heart Health Month, and it's the perfect time to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of our hearts! This month, we'll be highlighting healthy habits, such as staying active, eating well, and managing stress. Join us in supporting heart health by participating in activities, learning more about cardiovascular wellness, and encouraging each other to make heart-healthy choices. Together, we can make a difference in our health and well-being!

Mandatory Attendance

Every child who as attained the age of six years on or before August 1 of each year and is under the age of 17 is required to attend public school with such exceptions as provided by law. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure attendance. In cases where students are absent more than the allowed 10 days, parents may see letters coming home from the school requesting a meeting to talk about a plan to increase attendance. Our goal is to work with families to do what is best for students and help them be in school. Please reach out for any further information.

National FFA Week is a time to celebrate and learn about

agriculture and FFA. Did you know that the National FFA Organization has more than one million members

in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands? As our FFA chapter celebrates agriculture and FFA, we want everyone to get involved here at school!

During this week, we hope to see each of you learn and engage with us to help

celebrate! Talk to an officer or our agriculture teachers Mrs. Fall or Mrs. Hampton about how to join FFA.
