2020 FJSHS Graduation Info

Parents and students, Please be here with one student and four family members at your assigned times on Friday, June 5th.

5:15pm-Florence PD will open gates and student vehicles will line up for graduation.

5:30pm-Pre-recorded Speeches will start at 5:30 via Facebook and 1400 KRLN.

6:00pm-Graduation starts .Video live at https://youtu.be/_Y6lAeuSpCA (or click this box to take you there now).

6:10-8:00pm-Immediately following graduation, Students will head to Funfest @ Pioneer Park.

8:30pm-Procession Route through Florence-Starts at Babbitz Field and ending at Pathfinder.

As you are aware the COVID-19 pandemic has placed many difficult restrictions on large scale events such as a graduation ceremony. FJSHS administration has been working with senior leaders to develop alternative and allowable plans for honoring our graduating seniors. Our goal is to celebrate and honor our seniors in a unique and special manner.

Graduation plans will go through a 3 phase process: 1) Senior leader input, 2) Student, Parent, Community survey, and 3) approval from the Fremont County Department of Public Health and Environment

Seniors, parents, and community are welcome to take part in a short survey that outlines possible options for upcoming graduation ceremonies. Click anywhere on this block/message to go to the survey. We are working hard to help make graduation unique and special within our control.

On a side note, be prepared for a senior surprise next week! We Care about you and also hope you liked the banners that are around town.

Parents, please have your 9-12th grade student/s check email for registration information!

UPDATE: Parents please have your 9th grade-12th grade students check their school email as the counselors have sent out important information regarding registration for 2020-21 classes next year.

7th-8th grade students will be notified when their schedules are ready.

Please go over the information and return the form via email by May 1, 2020.

CSU-P is offering a virtual campus visit Wednesday, May 6th at 10am

Current high school students have the opportunity to learn about Colorado State University at Pueblo including programs of study, admissions procedures, and campus life. Participants will take a virtual campus tour and participate in a question and answer session with Admissions Officers.

Interested high school students should reply to Mrs. Collette at rcollette@re-2.org by Tuesday, May 5th to register.

Make sure students' household information is up to date with current phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and emergency contact information. Online registration is required for all returning students and is now open. Please take a moment to register your child and update information, if necessary.

Visit the parent portal, sign in as parent, scroll to the bottom, select "more", and select Online Registration on the right. Parent portal linked here or visit www.re-2.org, select FJSHS, parent portal.

Pikes Peak Gifted

Pikes Peak Association for Gifted Students (PPAGS) is hosting is second annual parent mini-conference on Saturday, March 14th, at El Pomar Julie Penrose House, 1661 Mesa Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. 80906.

Scholarship opportunities: Seniors are emailed each scholarship that we are received, they are also put in their Government classes google classroom and they are updated on our website. Many local scholarships will be arriving soon so please keep checking! Remember scholarships are not just for those planning on attending four year schools, they are available for those going to community colleges as well as CTE or trade schools.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program will start in January. This program is made available for our students with a partnership with St. Thomas More Hospital. Our students are trained and ready to take the state boards and upon passing can work as a CNA.
