National Honor Society is the nation’s premier student recognition organization.
Its purpose is to recognize outstanding students who demonstrate strong leadership, character and service qualities as well as academic excellence. Florence High School sophomores through seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher are invited to apply for membership. After applying for membership, students then go through an evaluation process and are ultimately selected by a Faculty Selection Committee. Once elected, students will attend monthly meetings, participate in community service projects, explore career options, and continue developing leadership skills as well as character qualities like integrity.

Membership in National Honor Society is prestigious. Colleges and scholarship committees look very favorably upon students who are members of NHS as they know the caliber of student involved in this organization.
